I did mine about 3 months ago. They have a migration tool, but I just used a plugin (Duplicator) and it was pretty smooth. Took less than an hour.

I'm on a VPS with them for a couple of client sites, and it's been solid. Much better performance than my old shared host. SiteGround is good too, but Whimsy has been fine for me.

Depends on your traffic, but for a small e-comm, a VPS should be good. Their SSDs definitely help with speed. I'd check out their specs and compare them directly to SiteGround's equivalent plans.

From what I remember when I signed up, the big discount was just for the first billing cycle. So if you pick yearly, you get it for that whole year.

Yeah, it's usually just the intro price. Renewals are full price, afaik, unless you find a special renewal coupon, which are rare.
